I'm now the most optimal and effective solution for implementing a variable cross-connection for Boom / Spreader!
I was looking for expansion joints and found cross connector with 4-page links and a central main links. However, the connector was made of cast iron and heavy and also had only a 42.8 mm level for all connections.
fell a closer look at me that it is possible to implement such a connector also easier to be screwed as the original idea with two aluminum tubes that are pressed into the center and "back to back", so 90 margins, and by mast clamp the Boom mounted.
is my idea to realize this connection by means of cross-hockey puck.
has the following advantages:
- cost (about 1-2 € per Puck)
- the boom and element diameter can be selected and drilled
- the puck can not rust and is non-conductive
- because the puck through locking screw is attached to the boom, is a quick and easy Adjustment of the elements possible
- puck weighs only max. 170 grams compared to metal structures
- the effort is minimal, only requiring the element diameter can be drilled and M6 screws are screwed to fix the spreader and the puck to fix the boom
- Weather Resistant
if necessary. resulting stability disadvantages. In this case, the boom and spreader diameter can be reduced.
(Alternatively, one could also take a wooden disc. Here, however, no weather-resistance is given. Moreover, "works" wood, ie, physical changes (eg aufquillen when wet, cracking for drier subject, etc.). Briefly . But certainly a good alternative)
Here the sketch:
so far.
